Oct 9, 2018

Michele S. Byers, Executive Director of New Jersey Conservation Foundation, released the following statement on the announcement from DEP Commissioner Catherine McCabe on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s launch of a comprehensive plan to make coastal areas more resilient to the impacts of severe storms and sea-level rise:

“We applaud the Murphy Administration for recognizing the critical importance of protecting New Jersey’s coastal communities and natural resources from the enormous threat of climate change and sea-level rise. We need greater emphasis on protecting and restoring natural systems along our coasts to enhance its resiliency. We look forward to working with the Administration and partners on this important initiative.”
