Maria Tranguch, Regional Manager, South Jersey Metro

Maria is Regional Manager of the South Jersey Metro region.  Her primary focus is on the Camden Greenway trail and a multiuse trail between Palmyra and Trenton.  She joins NJCF after obtaining her master’s degree in City Planning and earning a Land Preservation Certificate at the University of Pennsylvania.  During her studies, she gained valuable practical experience, which included work with Penn Praxis, a non-profit planning firm, to develop Green2015, a plan for Philadelphia to obtain 500 acres of new green space by 2015.  Also while in graduate school, she worked with a student consultant team to create a redevelopment plan for a 40-acre brownfield site in North Philadelphia and performed research on the availability of healthy foods.  Before graduate school, she worked as Associate Director of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center (LGNC), a Superfund site turned into a public access park.  At LGNC, she helped to grow membership by 30 percent in three years, assisted with the growth of the education program, coordinated ongoing re-vegetation efforts, and performed research.   She aims to combine her experience and education to improve the quality of life in the Greater Camden area.
