Wilderness Area of the
Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge
Join NJCF and the Great Swamp Watershed Association to explore GSWA's Conservation Area. Upstream from the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge, this 50-acre forested wetland contains vernal pools, streams, and woodland with wildflowers and wildlife aplenty.
In 1959, New Jersey Conservation
Foundation got its start by fighting plans for an unnecessary
airport that would have paved over the Great Swamp in Morris
County.
Join us as trained naturalists lead a peaceful walk
in this beautiful area. Come see the
magnificent wetlands and forest, and the over 200 varieties of wildflowers and bird species. Bring your binoculars and cameras!
