Wilma E. Frey,
Senior Policy Manager
Wilma brings four decades of environmental and planning
advocacy experience to NJCF’s Highlands policy program. She provides
the New Jersey Highlands Coalition local organizations with planning
and environmental policy expertise, as well as government relations,
communications and community organizing assistance. She currently
chairs the NJ Highlands Land Preservation Committee. Wilma was previously
employed as a regional coordinator for the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy;
as a consultant to The Wilderness Society, Grand Canyon Trust and
others; as the Washington, D.C. lobbyist for the Sierra Club’s Northeast
Region; and as a Landscape Architect in private practice. A former
chair of the New England Chapter of the Sierra Club, she served
on the Tewksbury Township Environmental Commission from 1998 to
2008. Wilma earned Masters' degrees in Landscape Architecture and
Public Administration, both from Harvard University, after undergraduate
study at The University of Michigan and Rhode Island School of Design.
Her photographs appear in many conservation publications.
